When I was nineteen, I moved out of state and across the country to explore a new life. School was out of the question and my intuition to pursue a new career was inevitable. Today, being the late twenty something year old woman that I am, I now understand the importance of success, happiness, and the decision to chose career over lover. Times have changed since I have moved and the latter has already been surpassed from the millions who are living the millennial life.
As for Kendall Jenner, she has created a life that is envied by most (style envy for me at least). No, I do not wish to be “Amy Jenner” but I do admire Kendall’s career choice as an influential millennial who is changing the face of fashion. At the tender age of twenty (let me repeat that: at the tender age of TWENTY), Kendall landed on the front cover of the September Issue of Vogue Magazine. In fashion terms, it’s game-changing realness that is only achieved by the fashion elite. And in elite terms, I mean Anna Wintour approved.
From her first Tumblr & Tipsy, Spring 2013 show to opening for Balmain and most recent Fendi Fall 2016 Couture, Kendall has strutted through the cat walk hall of fame and proved hard work pays off. The self-proclaimed tomboy directed her own career path at the ripe age of thirteen and didn’t want the fame of her sisters to dictate her future.¹ She achieved her lifelong dream of becoming today’s it-girl of au naturel beauty and effortless style.
To celebrate the front cover landing of Vogue Magazine’s September Issue, let’s take a walk down memory lane and enjoy the most coveted runway looks that have captured the soul of the fashion world today. Well done, Kendall Jenner.
