Ready, set, runway!

Today is the birth of the Runway Regime. As a fashion junkie, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create an open journal showcasing inspiration that influences my style on the daily. I often get asked where I buy my clothing and am praised on how well the pieces suit me (there is no narcism here; I’ve learned what works for my body type, what doesn’t, and what I really love to wear). The Runway Regime was created to share my passion with you and deliver a coveted styling experience through designer collections that will [hopefully] inspire and help you achieve a curated, shoppable look.

Without further ado, I’d like to welcome the Runway Regime’s FIRST ever blog post. I hope the fashion insight and commentary provided brings value, inspiration, and style-actualization to your closet. Let the runway renegade begin!

In celebration of my first post, I’d like to share my absolute all time favorite, Stella McCartney’s Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection. Polka dots can be sexy and Miss McCartney proved us wrong as she captivated the catwalk with “sexy ease.” Her collection encompassed a masculine-feme appeal with boxy silhouettes, velvet peplum tops, sporty bombers, geometric necklines, and tulle T-shirts layered with embroidered polka dots.

What fascinates me most about this collection is the establishment of unadulterated elements of youth combined with provocative silhouettes that McCartney showcases throughout each piece. Playful sensuality is revealed through texture, shape, monochromatic color schemes, and delivers a boast of pure polka-dot pleasure.

I curated this look with pieces that can be worn all together or separately. If you have a black skirt, pair it with a sheer blouse and layer with an oversized trench or boxy full length coat. You can play up or dress down this look; it’s all about how you feel! This is a great playful date night look. Have fun, be yourself, and let the world be your runway.
